United Nations Association

Learning to Represent the World

Tuesdays 6:30 p.m. 108 West Village H

The United Nations Association is the most interactive and integrated student group for Northeastern Students interested in foreign policy, international relations and the finer points of global politics. Between weekly meeting that are complemented by collaboration with the Model UN and Model Arab League courses offered by the Political Science Department and the numerous simulated conferences attended by the team each semester there is no better way for students to engage in and discuss the most prominent international current events while perfecting debate and public speaking skills.

ParliamentAlthough the United Nations Association is divided between members of the current class, receiving academic credit, and the voluntary club engaged in preparing for and operating delegations for conferences the two co-exist smoothly, and members of each are encouraged to participate and cross over into the other.

Opportunities at the United Nations Association include participating in and chairing active committee sessions during models, gaining an intimate knowledge of the country you will represent, learning about the way the United Nations and League of Arab States work (and sometimes fail to work), and using your own skills to improve the organization, which has a very high level of student leadership.

Meetings are held every Tuesday evening starting at 6:30 at 108 West Village H. All are welcome, all can participate regardless of prior knowledge or experience in Model UN. We’re waiting for your voice!
