Ross Donohue
I would like this position because I believe that I could influence the direction of this club in a positive manner, furthermore I would like to become more involved with the club so that I could benefit the organization, and this position would be one facet of that involvement, seeing that I would continue to become more involved regardless of the results of the election. To continue, during the next term I hope to help with any and all the conferences that we attend and host, and barring that simply improving my involvement in debate, by increasing my level of preparedness for all topics, and finding a subsequent method to do so. As for why I am qualified for this position, it is because before coming to Northeastern, I held a position at my previous school's MUN club that encompassed many of the responsibilities of the EVP. As there was no class associated with our club the duty of training and recruiting new members fell on the e-board working in tandem with the advisor. Even though the rules and procedure of that club differs from this one, the organizational principles remain the same, and it is in this way I think the positions were similar and subsequently lend me qualifications for the position. What I would bring to the new E-board is this: a calm demeanor, a willingness to work, a flexible schedule, and the realization that I have been wrong, and will be wrong, and must be open to criticism.

1. While I am relatively new to the United Nations Association, I have spent the past two semesters fully engaged as both a delegate and a club member. I am interested in holding this position because I know that I have the qualifications and experience necessary to manage and coordinate events planning in an organized manner. I have used my time in the UNA to build relationships with other members, to contribute in both class and at conference, and to assist with events sponsored or related to the UNA. I have observed how the Executive Board functions in regards to planning these events, and I feel that I can make a vital contribution to their continued success if elected Officer of the Vice President for Events Planning.
2. If elected I pledge to work diligently in conjunction with the Executive Board and other club members to ensure that all events are planned in an organized, efficient, and effective manner. The UNA has built a reputation of professionalism in regards to the events that they sponsor, and I can assure all members that I will uphold the responsibilities of this position. I will contribute my time and effort to the organization, coordination, and execution of all stages of conference and event planning next term, paying close attention to detail, engaging club members, and utilizing their skills, to guarantee that things run smoothly. I am fully prepared to take on the amount of work this position requires in the coming semester.
3. I am confident that I am qualified to be the Officer for the Vice President of Events Planning. I have extensive experience that will assure that I will be an effective, responsible, and organized member of the Executive Board. Not only have I been a delegate at two conferences this year with the Northeastern United Nations Association, but I have volunteered my extra time to staff the recent Boston Public High School Model United Nations conference. Prior to joining the UNA, I was the Secretary-General of my high school Model United Nations chapter where I organized conferences, fundraisers, and programs for our delegates and the greater community. Additionally, in the past two years I have served as Hall Council President, as a member of CUP involved in both large and small scale event planning for Springfest Week, and as an artist liaison and hospitality manager for the 2008 Farm Aid Benefit Concert. I am currently on co-op at Amnesty International where I recently helped plan and staff the AIUSA Annual General Meeting which drew over one thousand activists from across the country. My responsibilities at this event included: organizing a rally for immigrants’ rights with over 500 attendees, planning activist engagement workshops and plenary sessions, and arranging for a large policy conference between the AIUSA Board of Directors and the membership.
4. As the Officer of the Vice President for Events Planning I will bring experience, a determined work ethic, a positive attitude, and my fullest attention to the Executive Board. I promise to work collaboratively and cooperatively with the other board members and the UNA as a whole to ensure that all events are planned successfully from the opening to the closing ceremonies.

Janelle Peiczarka
1. Why do you want to have this position?
I want to be the Vice President of Finance of the United Nations
Association because I truly care about this organization. I want to see
this club excel and I want to remain an actively involved member who
can help the organization grow and be financially feasible for all
members.
2. What are you planning on doing during this next term for the club?
The next term has the potential to be one of the best semesters for the
United Nations Association in years. As VP of Finance I would have the
ability to continue the work that I have helped with this semester –
primarily stabilizing the budget and enabling the club to be as
involved with conferences, NU activities, and any other ventures that
the club wants to take on. I wholeheartedly encourage the club to
attend more conferences while still growing as a presence on the
Northeastern campus. Although, the financials of accommodating this
can be difficult, I look forward to working on finding a balance
between the two.
3. What makes you qualified for the positions you are nominated for?
I feel that I am highly qualified to be the Vice President of Finance
for several reasons. I am currently majoring in Political Science and
Economics, as a dual major, and this position epitomizes the
combination of these two majors. I also have worked with the Student
Activities Business Office and understand how the budgeting and
financial systems of the club work, making the transition for the club
easier on the whole.
4. What will you bring to the new E-Board?
I have always been extremely excited about the United Nations
Association as a whole and I like to believe that I carry over that
excitement to the E-board. In the past semester, for better or worse,
I brought a brand new viewpoint to the E-board. My inexperience in the
intricate operations of the club were what made me a good,
contributive, and active member of the E-board. Now that I have had
the opportunity to be deeply involved with the group it will be much
easier to offer my viewpoints and I believe that if I am elected that I
will provide a sense of continuity between the old and new E-boards.
